WebHostingBuzz Pricing & Plans

WebHostingBuzz takes a pretty standard approach to hosting as they offer shared, dedicated, VPS and reseller packages. What differs from most other providers is that they have separate pricing based on the term of your plan. For instance, signing up for the basic “Buzz Light” package means you will not have the option for month-to-month payment, rather a two-year price of $4.95 a month or one year at $5.95 a month.

That being said, their shared hosting prices are still relatively low for an unlimited bandwidth provider, especially when you factor in the free add-ons that come with the “Buzz Premier” package. Dedicated IPs, SSL certificates, site migration and a free domain name are just a few of the free benefits that you can enjoy for under 10$ a month. WordPress hosting is also available should you be looking to setup a blog.

VPS plans start at $14.95 a month, with 1 GB RAM, 20 GB of storage and 250 GB of bandwidth, which is much less than Hostgator, but still doesn’t compare in value when looking at VPS.NET or Digital Ocean, dedicated cloud-hosting providers.

Dedicated hosting is also available if you require the additional resources for your website, starting at $119 a month, with choices between single core and dual core processors. Built on a 10 GB redundant network and RAID10 hard drives, they could be the right option for your growing business.

WebHostingBuzz also offers domain registration services, although as mentioned previously, they will include a free domain name in any hosting plan.

If you are hesitant about signing up for a WebHostingBuzz plan, you can take comfort in knowing that they offer a 30 day money-back guarantee for all plans, no questions asked.

WebHostingBuzz Interface / Security

We were happy to learn that WHB uses CPanel as the standard interface for their shared hosting packages, while VPS plans also come with their popular OnApp VPS management interface.

Using CPanel means you have easy access to all the critical areas of your website, including: Site backups, database management, e-mail  accounts and much more. You will also have access to a multitude of web applications you can install using CPanel, while e-commerce specific shared hosting is also available.

If you are looking for a site builder, WHB has SohoLaunch available for shared hosting plans for an additional fee, while developers will also be happy to learn there are numerous languages available, including PHP 5, MySQL 5, Perl, SSI, JavaScript and many more.

In terms of security, WHB’s data centers in North America are secured by 24/7 on-site security, along with N+N power redundancy though multiple generators and UPS systems. In terms of security tools for your website, SpamAssassin can easily be enabled from CPanel, with backup management also available from the control panel.

Additional security features include brute force protection and mod_security firewall support for apps, while they also claim to have network administrators monitoring the network 24/7.

WHB also offers SSL certificates starting at $12 a month if you require the extra security for heavy traffic or e-commerce site. It is worth noting however, that their “Buzz Premier” shared hosting package comes with a Dedicated IP address and a SSL certificate included for only $10 a month.

WebHostingBuzz Speed / Reliability

The bread and butter of any hosting provider is the speed and reliability by which they operate, as even extremely low prices cannot make up for your site’s downtime or slow load times.

Luckily, WHB utilizes some of the best hardware available (top of the line Intel processors, RAID10 storage and more) to ensure smooth operation of their servers. With locations in Atlanta, NYC, Dallas and Phoenix, WHB has all four corners of the continent ready to provide you with the closest and fastest network for your visitors.

In terms of uptime, WHB gives the industry-standard 99.9% SLA. While we don’t have a concrete way of measuring WHB’s uptime ourselves, the amount of positive reviews and social media we have researched seems to indicate that they are quite a trustworthy provider when it comes to uptime.

As far as speeds go, we were able to test a 1.6 MB sample test page using Pingdom’s website speed test. Considering the industry standard hovers around 2-3 seconds for pages to load, our 821 MS load time was very impressive.

If you are dealing with dynamic content on your site or have a wide range of visitors from different parts of the world, CloudFlare CDN is also available to install from the CPanel interface.

WebHostingBuzz Customer Service

Unfortunately, we don’t have to say that customer service is another essential part of a hosting provider, as there are bound to be issues that arise with your website sooner or later. Luckily, WebHostingBuzz has some of the best customer service in the industry to help you when an issue arises with your site.

Support includes live chat, telephone, e-mail, tickets and a large knowledge base filled with guides and FAQs. While the live chat and telephone support isn’t 24/7, we were happy to see that our test live chat session was connected in under a minute at 9 AM EST!

Telephone support was slightly more disappointing, with our call lacking the speed and helpfulness we experienced with their live chat. Nonetheless, the fact that we were able to connect with someone to ask about their payment methods at 10 AM EST on a weekday in less than ten minutes was still impressive.

It is also worth noting that Business shared hosting customers have access to priority support as well as a longer, 45-day money back guarantee.

WebHostingBuzz Review Conclusion

I liked

  • Free Domain name
  • Free site migration

I wasn’t so sure about

  • Lack of 24/7 phone and live chat support

I hated

  • No month-to-month pricing

So, whats the buzz about WebHostingBuzz? Fair prices and lots of additional features like a free domain name, site migration and SSL certificates! For under $10 a month, there is some great value to be had with the all inclusive “Buzz Premier” plan.

Although we were slightly worried about the lack of true 24/7 support and month-to-month pricing, these are relatively minor issues when considering some of the faults we’ve found with other hosting providers.

With a 30-day money-back guarantee available on all plans, you have to give WebHostingBuzz a try today!
